Gettin’ Away: Step 2 – Blissful Living
The Liberty Bell

The Liberty Bell

Deren sent us on a scavenger hunt through the city to get acquainted with the surroundings and also a chance to visit some of the historical sites and places as well as turn it into a sort of adventure. It was definitely a great time and then afterward, we took a trolley back across the city.

Our first Wawa!

Our first Wawa!

Neither Raphael or I have not ever set foot in Philadelphia. Through the past year I’ve heard so much about it from my roommate Deren. So we made plans throughout the year to make a visit at some point in the summer. So we did. This is indeed a great city! We had a great time traveling between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In New Jersey I got the chance to see something I haven’t seen in YEARS: 蛍 (ほたる) [fireflies]. It was great! We spent a lot of time eating frozen yogurt and shortening it’s name between “FroYo” and “Frogurt.” SweetEndings is the name of the place were Deren worked. Their Frogurt had to be some of the best I’ve ever tasted and the best part is that it’s self-serve! So I know I ate so much of it. Just too delicious to miss!

In the end we took a long walk from Newbury Street to Harvard Square and back just in time for the firework.

We had a nice walk through Copley and then went all out like children with beachballs. How wonderful to be kids again.

Sneaky Little Restaurant.

Sneaky Little Restaurant.

I got to return to Boston for one day to enjoy the holiday with my am♥r. I have had the biggest craving for Ethiopian cuisine for quite some time so finally we found a great place nearby the movie theater where we saw Up for the second time. The restaurant, called Addis Red Sea, is located at 544 Tremont Street and was lovely in just about everyway.

Raphael and I went last night for a fun night visiting David. He was lonely and a wreck due to living alone for the past few weeks since he’s been taking summer classes. Lots of food and we filled up on cookies and watched “The House Bunny.” Before that Raphael and I had an awesome day walking around the city and what not. It was a very beautiful day especially since I was with my amor♥

Summertime = Anime Time?

小学生?

小学生?

Since summer began I’ve been getting interested again in anime. Which for a while I have only been a passive watcher. I’ve picked up watching the series most popular among American anime-viewers: Naruto and Bleach. However they are VERY LONG and still ongoing. I am not one to take interest in longer anime. I tend to enjoy shorter ones more. Raphael and I are contemplating taking up creating an anime blog. We have not settled on what we will call it or anything yet. I am shocked at how interested in Japanese culture it is making me most recently. I am trying out a bunch of new things. What I’m really in search of is an anime that isn’t yet popular but is really good. I’m a strong believer in some of the best things being unpopular. Any ideas on what anime I should take up watching please be my guest.
