LoVE on the DashBOARD

My Soul Exploration.

Since earlier this month, I have stopped myself from listening to any Asian music since I had grown far to comfortable to it. I began ignoring the majority of things that are going on in the English-speaking world. Although many people think that ignoring something is a bad thing, I am finding a lot of good from it. It’s forcing me to explore in other areas and also re-evaluate myself. I have found a great deal of great things. In music specifically, I’ve found two very interesting female singers: Florence + The Machine and Bat for Lashes. Both of which I have grown very fond of. Their music is quiet intriguing and definitely beautiful, deep and soulful. Two things that make this exploration forth it.

Florence + The Machine: Drumming Song ♥

Bat For Lashes: Daniel ♥

This year’s convention was very different from the others I’ve been to becuase I was the one who booked the hotel room! What’s stranger is that I live in CT and booked a hotel room. However, it was necessary for all the things that occured over the course of the 3 day convention. We hardly visited any panels. The majority of the time we walked around the dealer’s room which had a great deal of things to offer! I bought 2 new Utada singles: ‘Movin’ on Without You’ and ‘Can You Keep A Secret?’ The convention events were kind of cheesy but supposedly we missed a huge chunk when we left the con to visit my nearby aunt. My friend Manny said that the mascarade got really interesting while we were gone but I don’t regret leaving for pizza. It was fun.

今日、「電車男」というテレビ番組をダウンロードしました。一番目のエピソードにはジャマイカのフラグを着ています。「ちょっとへん」と思っていますから、ここにこの写真を置きたかったです。

O P E N and Awaken
Get yo' read on.

Get yo' read on.

I recently searched the up the benefits of reading books. I was pretty much pushed to think back to the last time I read a book and it had been quite a while. I decided that I’m going to start making sure I’m always reading. Reading for enjoyment is somethign I guess I’ve wanted to do for a while but never actually could stomach for long. Originally I was pushing through the pages of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in a race to read it before the release of the movie. I then began reading the final installment of the Harry Potter series which I must say was amazing in just about every way. I decided that the reading doesn’t have to stop, I will continue and trying to find new books. I am very impressed with myself since I’m actually making a point to stick with it. It will only do me well in the end. Currently I’m borrowing ‘The DaVinci Code.’ It’s a rather slow starter but it’s building up. I have a feeling it will be a very good book. I’ll have to be sure to review it in the end or something.

Gettin’ Away: Step 2 – Blissful Living
The Liberty Bell

The Liberty Bell

Deren sent us on a scavenger hunt through the city to get acquainted with the surroundings and also a chance to visit some of the historical sites and places as well as turn it into a sort of adventure. It was definitely a great time and then afterward, we took a trolley back across the city.

Our first Wawa!

Our first Wawa!

Neither Raphael or I have not ever set foot in Philadelphia. Through the past year I’ve heard so much about it from my roommate Deren. So we made plans throughout the year to make a visit at some point in the summer. So we did. This is indeed a great city! We had a great time traveling between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In New Jersey I got the chance to see something I haven’t seen in YEARS: 蛍 (ほたる) [fireflies]. It was great! We spent a lot of time eating frozen yogurt and shortening it’s name between “FroYo” and “Frogurt.” SweetEndings is the name of the place were Deren worked. Their Frogurt had to be some of the best I’ve ever tasted and the best part is that it’s self-serve! So I know I ate so much of it. Just too delicious to miss!

In the end we took a long walk from Newbury Street to Harvard Square and back just in time for the firework.
