Yesterday I went out alone to run errands. One of those errands was to go get this shirt because i really wanted it. I saw it last week but didn’t have money and yesterday I did so I couldn’t really resist. Only $12.

(Coca-Cola~Enjoy.)

(Coca-Cola~Enjoy.)

I think the name that China chose to represent Coca-Cola was a good idea. (Read kě kǒu kě lè) is interesting because I guess in a sense it sounds some what like “Coca-Cola” but it’s awesome because the first part 可口 (kě kǒu) means ‘tasty’ and 可乐 (kě lè) means ‘cola.’ So in that sense it means ‘Tasty Cola’ and sounds like Coca-Cola at the same time. The tagline in English is “Enjoy.” in Chinese it’s “请喝 (qǐng hē)” It doesnot mean ‘enjoy’ or anything like that. It simply means “Please drink” which is a pretty funny tagline. Good thing that’s not the case in English. In all, I don’t like Coca-Cola at all, soda is gross and it leaves a nasty aftertaste and feeling for me. But yeah. Now you know why the shirt is awesome.

With my limited Chinese. I just wanted to share this video because I came across it about last year. I was shocked because the singer reminds me a lot of Jason Mraz who I’m a pretty big fan of. His song “Wo Ai Ni” is worth a shot even for those that aren’t big into CPop (I’m not a big CPop fan either). The whole album overall is great. He isn’t all that famous as of now but prehaps in the future he will gain some recognition. Kind of an underground artist in a sense then. Also for those, like myself who are learning Mandarin little by little but not seriously, this is good in the case that the characters are displayed at the bottom and you can see how much you know and learn more.

Useful Words for Listening:

好不好 = hao bu hao = “How are you?” (colloquial)

不知道 = bu zhi dao = I don’t know

快回到 = kuai hui dao = Come back

我身边 = wo shen bian = By my side

我爱你 = wo ai ni = I love you

I’m getting very excited for Ralph’s return. I know it’s only 12:15am so the day has yet to begin, I still want to say “ONLY 1 MORE DAY LEFT!!” I’m going to start counting down that hours at 3PM today. You’ve been on my mind all day my love. I can’t wait until tomorrow to see you again. It’s been so long. We’ve been separated for a bit of time now and inside I’ve been waiting to see you again. You make my world a better place, kuma bear♥.

GOD I’m chessy. The Chinese is me putting the character 能 to use, thanks to Sean for the lesson.
